Poor Caulking Job Led to a Mouse Problem in Senoia, Georgia

Poor caulking caused a mouse problem in Senoia
What happened here seems to be that when the vent was installed, there was a cap along the top. The installer tried to fill that gap with caulk. There's still a little bit of it at the left side of the joint. But because it had nothing to adhere to on the top, it eventually fell into the gap. That created a gap that mice could get through.
A mouse can squeeze through a gap about the thickness of the diameter of a pencil. Walking around your hose with a pencil looking for gaps it will fit in is a good way to help prevent mouse problems.
