Flying Squirrel Entry Point into a House in Valdosta, Georgia

Stains under a dryer vent where flying squirrels squeezed between the vent and the siding of a house in Valdosta Georgia

How flying squirrels got into a house in Valdosta

What's interesting about this picture is that the flying squirrels didn't get into the house through the vent itself. Instead, they squeezed between the dryer vent and the siding of the house. You can tell from the staining where they were getting in and out.

It's hard to see, but the bottom of the siding is missing from under the hole that the vent pipe passes through. In other words, they notched the siding rather than making a hole in it, probably because there was so little siding left under the hole that it would have broken off anyway. But they didn't seal up the bottom of the notch, and flying squirrels took advantage of that oversight to get into this house in Valdosta, Georgia.
