I went outside to remove some old robins' nests from under my porch, but I stuck my phone up there first to make sure the nests weren't in use. My timing was excellent because I caught this video of some newly-hatched baby robins.
Robins don't usually reuse their nests. When they do, they usually lay down a new floor; but once in a while they just use the nest as is. This nest has actually been there for several years. I just never got around to removing it. I'll probably leave it there for good now. The robins cause no problems where they're living.
Robins are not classified as pest birds; and with rare exceptions, there's nothing we can do about them other than seal them out of an area after the young have fledged and are capable of living on their own. But I thought it was a cool video, so I decided to post it here anyway.
