Evidence of Raccoons in the Attic of a House in Atlanta

Flattened out insulation and a small pile of raccoon scat are evidence of a raccoon problem in the attic of an Atlanta home

Evidence of raccoons in an attic in Atlanta

The flattened-out insulation in the attic of this house in Atlanta could have been caused by any of several different animals. But the pile of raccoon scat narrows it down.

The pile of raccoon scat is pretty small. Unless there's another latrine in a part of the attic not in this picture, it suggests a new raccoon problem. Quite possibly the attic had previous problems with other animals, such as squirrels, who quickly departed when the raccoons moved in.
