Rats Got Into the Attic of this Chattanooga Home Through this Gap

One inch gap in the edge of the roof sheathing of a house in Chattanooga that allowed tree rats into the attic

Tree rat entry gap into a house in Chattanooga

That gap at the edge of the roof sheathing looks to be only about an inch, but that was enough for tree rats to squeeze their way into the attic of this house in Chattanooga.

On the bright side, the lack of any rub marks or stains tells me that this is a very new rat infestation. The less time rats are in an attic, the less damage they do, and the less they contaminate the attic with their urine and droppings.
