How a rat snake got into a house in Hiram
The screen behind this foundation vent was displaced when someone decided to run an extension cord through the vent (which wasn't the brightest idea from an electrical safety point of view, but that's another story).
The screen also has rub marks along the bottom edge from rodents who were also using it to get into the house, which was what attracted the snake to follow. Most snake problems in houses result from untreated mouse or rat problems. The snakes area attracted by the scent and are looking for a meal.
We'll remove both the snakes and the rodents, and seal up this house in Hiram, Georgia to make it both rodent-proof and snake-proof.
