Young rat snake removed from a house in Carrollton

This young snake probably got into a house in Carrollton, Georgia looking for mice to eat. Most snake problems in homes are rodent-related.

The snake was later released to the wild far enough away from the home that it won't find its way back. Unlike mammals, juvenile snakes are capable of fending for themselves. There's no need to release them with their mothers.
