Unusual Gray Squirrel Gap into the Attic of a House in Dunwoody, Georgia

Inch a half gap between the soffit panel and the heavily stained chimney has not been further gnawed by the squirrels who used the gap to get into a house in Dunwoody Georgia

Squirrel gap into a house in Dunwoody

What's somewhat unusual about this gap is that it's obvious from the filth on the chimney that the squirrels have been using it for a long time, but they never gnawed the soffit panel to enlarge the hole. The existing gap is big enough for squirrels to get through, but only just barely. Usually they would have enlarged it by now.

I guess it's just a case of lazy squirrels. The work ethic in the squirrel community must be on the decline.

We'll trap and remove the lazy squirrels from the attic of this Dunwoody, Georgia home and relocate them elsewhere. We'll also clean the outside of the chimney, and we'll seal that gap in the soffit panel to keep other squirrels out of the attic.
