Gap in a Soffit Panel Allowed Roof Rats into this House in Tucker, Georgia

Inch and a half gap between the soffit panel and the shingles at a roof junction with a wire passing through it allowed rats into an attic in Tucker Georgia.

Why this house in Tucker has rats in the attic

That gap appears to me to have been there since the house was built. I say that because the trim on the left extends all the way to the shingle, but the soffit panel doesn't. The wire passing through the gap was just opportunistic, meaning the person who ran the wire just used the existing gap.

The roof rats also used the gap and were much obliged to the builder for putting it there. It made it much easier for them to get into the attic of this house in Tucker, Georgia. We'll trap and remove the rats from the attic, and seal that gap and any others we find to keep rats and other animals out of the attic.
