Yellow jackets nest removed from an Atlanta home

Chris G. sent this picture of a yellow jackets nest he removed from a house in Atlanta. It's a bit late in the season, but there you have it.

Yellow jackets are void insects who don't produce honey, so it's not always necessary to remove the nest as it is with honey bees. Sometimes the nest presents a fire hazard, however, and must be removed; and sometimes the customer simply wants it gone and out of their house.
