Raccoon Damage to the Roof of a House in Duluth, Georgia

Young raccoons tore several inches of shingles off for about a two foot length of roof line to get into the attic of a house in Duluth Georgia.

Raccoon damage to the roof of a house in Duluth

This is pretty typical seasonal raccoon damage for this time of the year. Young male raccoons often leave their birth nests in the fall and spend their first winters either alone, or partying with other "bachelor" raccoons. This leads to a lot of cases like this one in which the raccoons tear and gnaw relatively small holes into roofs to get into the attics of houses. Sometimes they'll even use an existing squirrel hole or a large construction gap to get in.

We'll set traps to remove the raccoons from the attic of this house in Duluth, Georgia; repair the damage; and seal the house to keep raccoons and other animals outside where they belong.
