Raccoon Damage to a Soffit Panel at a House in Cumming, Georgia

Raccoons tore a ragged hole a little bigger than a softball through the plywood soffit panel at a roof junction to get into the attic of a house in Cumming Georgia.

Raccoon damage to a soffit panel in Cumming

This raccoon hole through the soffit panel and into the attic looks like it was made by a young male raccoon spending its first winter away from home. (Female raccoons usually spend their first winters with their mothers and sisters.)

We get a lot of calls like this from the late summer through the early winter. Sometimes we'll find only one raccoon in the attic, and sometimes we'll find several "bachelor" males sharing the space.

We'll be trapping and removing the raccoons from the attic of this house in Cumming, Georgia. We'll also replace that section of soffit panel and do whatever other exclusion work is necessary to keep raccoons and other animals out of the house.
