Raccoon Damage to the Soffit Panel of a House in Tucker, Georgia

A few feet of the soffit panel of a house in Tucker Georgia is sagging because of the weight of raccoons running back and forth on top of it.

Raccoons collapsed the soffit panel in Tucker

This is the time of year when young male raccoons typically leave home to spend their first winters either alone, or sharing a space with other young male raccoon roommates. When they run back and forth on the soffit panels, the panels will often collapse under their weight, especially if they were cut a bit narrow to begin with.

What we usually do in these cases is trap and remove the raccoons, and then either replace the section of soffit panel or install a slightly wider track to hold it in place. We'll also animal-proof the rest of the roof to keep raccoons and other wildlife out of the attic of this house in Tucker, Georgia.
