How mice got into an apartment house in Atlanta
What happened here was that the gap between the window frame and the wall was too big to be sealed with caulking, and over time it fell out. Mice climbed up the brick wall (yeah, they can do that) and got into the building through the gap.
We have sealants we can use to seal gaps like that, but we also have to treat the mouse problem in terms of the mice that are already in the building. We'll do this completely non-chemically using traps, not poisons. Using rodenticides for mouse control inside a building is never a great idea, but it's especially to be avoided in multiple dwellings.
