This House in Atlanta Needs Mouse-Proofing

Mice gnawed through the screen behind a vertical slat in a metal foundation vent screen to get into a house in Atlanta.

Mice gnawed through a vent screen in Atlanta

Foundation vent screens are one of the most common ways that mice get into houses. The screens are usually too flimsy to keep rodents out of a house event when they're new; and when they get corroded, they're even easier for mice to chew through.

Sometimes we have to replace the entire vent covers, especially when they're badly corroded or damaged or when they're made of plastic. This aluminum vent looks to be in decent shape other than for the screen, however; so most likely we'll just need to re-screen the existing vents to keep mice out of this house in Atlanta.
