Why this Riverdale home has a Norway rat problem
I'm not sure how the foundation vent cover became dislodged like that. It wasn't always that way because you can see the mortar line from where it used to be, a few inches forward from where it is now.
The rats didn't know how the vent cover moved, either. But they didn't give it much thought. They just used the exposed lightening hole in the cinder block to get into the house.
Because they're old and rusty anyway, we'll be replacing the foundation vent covers as part of a comprehensive plan to trap, remove, and exclude rats from this house in Riverdale, Georgia.
