Human-Assisted Rat Problem in the Crawl Space of a House in Atlanta

Someone broke off several inches of a soffit vent cover to pass various pipes and wires through which allowed rats into a house in Atlanta.

Human-assisted rat entry into a house in Atlanta

There may have been multiple rat-loving humans who contributed to this rat infestation. We have what looks like an electrical conduit to a generator or air-conditioning unit, along with five coax cables, most likely for cable television or Internet, passing through a hole that someone made in the foundation vent cover.

Unfortunately, none of the tradesmen gave any though to how they would keep Norway rats from using that gap to get into the crawl space of this house in Atlanta.

We'll trap and remove the rats and rat-proof the house to prevent future infestations, all without using any pesticides.
