Handyman's Attempt to Rat-Proof a House in Americus, Georgia was an Epic Fail

A handyman applied screening to only part of the roof edge in an attempt to rat proof an Americus Georgia home so the rats were able to get around the screen.

Failed handyman rat-proofing attempt in Americus

One mistake that handymen almost always make when trying to seal rats out of a building is that they only seal the areas the rats are currently using. That won't work. Non-chemically treating a rat problem requires that all the potential entry points be closed off, not just the ones that the rats happen to be using at the moment.

In the case of this picture, the rats just moved over a few inches to get into the attic. There's no such thing as a partial rat-exclusion job, and this picture proves it.

We have a crew trapping and removing the rats from the attic of this Americus, Georgia home. They're also properly sealing all the gaps to make the house permanently rodent-proof.
