Roof rat entry gap into a stone house in Athens

Stone houses are difficult to pest-proof because of the irregular gaps between the stone and wood elements. The gaps between the stone walls and the wooden roof trim are allowing roof rats into this house in Athens, Georgia.

As will all of our rodent-control work, we're treating this rat infestation using non-chemical pest control best practices. The entry gaps will be sealed to keep rats and other rodent pests and nuisance animals out of the house; and the existing rat infestation will be treated using trapping and removal, without using any poisons. We'll also be replacing the attic insulation, which is heavily soiled with rat droppings and urine.
