Human-Assisted Norway Rat Entry Point into a House in Newnan, Georgia

Someone cut a notch several inches down into a foundation vent screen and hung a pipe through it which allowed Norway rats into a house in Newnan Georgia.

Man-made Norway rat gap into a house in Newnan

What he have here is another example of a man-made rat problem. Cutting a notch in that screen to hang the pipe practically guaranteed that Norway rats would get into this Newnan, Georgia home.

In fairness, the screen was kind of flimsy to begin with. The rats could have gnawed through it pretty easily even before the pipe was hung. But cutting the notch in it was like an engraved invitation. We'll properly seal all the vents and the exterior of the house to achieve non-chemical rodent pest control.
