Here's another example of a handyman using dollar-store insulating foam to try to seal rats out of a house, this time in Columbus, Georgia. The handyman sprayed the foam into the burrows, which will give the rats a good laugh as the gnaw right through it.

Even if the foam did work, however, it would stand a better chance of sealing rats into the house than out of the house. Non-chemical rat control requires that the existing rats be trapped and removed, lest they be sealed into the house and either cause more damage looking for a way out, or die there and stink up the house for months.
